Prescriptive Content for
Microsoft patterns & practices Group

The patterns & practices group at Microsoft develops training and reference materials covering various technical subject areas — sometimes related to a particular product, sometimes to an overall development approach — for audiences both inside and outside of Microsoft.

Business Issue and Requirements

The p&p group needed technical documentation services to help create guidance and best practices on various emerging technologies and solutions for a demanding audience of architects, developers, program managers, and IT professionals.

Solution

Wadeware gathered information from the p&p group to produce technical documentation, architecture guidance, and best practices that were ultimately released to customers in multiple formats, including physical books, Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) articles, and a regularly updated Wiki. Wadeware technical writers and editors successfully worked to ensure editorial consistency across all of the voluminous technical documentation for the project, and also to ensure that the final deliverables were compatible with various technical content delivery mechanisms available within Microsoft.
