Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 R2 extends software-powered voice functionality, especially for remote and mobile workers. The software provides audio conferencing to help reduce operational costs and introduces new developer tools, including the ability to build communications-enabled business processes. OCS is designed to improve business communications through a unified infrastructure and user experience.
Business issue and requirements
Microsoft needed an OCS courseware package that included a full three-day version, as well as a consolidated one-day version for OCS training. Familiarity with OCS was an essential skill that was required to ensure the one-day version provided all the right information. The courseware also needed to be delivered to multiple training locations worldwide.
Wadeware’s technical documentation team worked with Microsoft to modify and streamline existing PowerPoint presentation slides and instructor materials for OCS 2007 R2 that were originally intended to be used in a training course over an extended period of time. Wadeware’s efforts helped identify process improvements and allowed them to deliver a courseware package that fulfilled the client’s need to provide comprehensive training to business users in a consolidated time frame.
