MAPI Status Error in OC 2007 R2 with Outlook 2010
Category: IT Infrastructure | Author: Thomas ForemanWe came across a small error recently that plagued a few of us here in our office and I wanted to post a quick note on how to fix it.
Some of our users have been using Outlook 2010, and we were noticing an error in Communicator. It was interfering with Outlook contact lookups and there was the annoying red bang in Communicator. The error said Communicator couldn’t determine the location of our Exchange Web Services. This was only happening with users of Outlook 2010.
When I took a closer look at the configuration information in Communicator, it was showing this MAPI Status Error:

To get to the Configuration Information page, press CTRL and right-click the Communicator Icon on the system tray and then click Configuration Information.

Luckily, there is a quick and easy fix for this error. It gets fixed by the April 2010 update package for Communicator 2007 R2. You can the update package here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978564
Hope this helps!
