We are seeking a developer with Silverlight experience to join our growing team as we develop high-profile projects with nationally known clients. As an IT consultant you’ll need to ramp up quickly to provide immediate value and have a strong desire to work with uncharted technologies. 

The perfect candidate has strong C# experience building ASP.NET applications and familiar with SQL. Our team works in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and uses VSS for source control. We are building unique, cutting-edge custom applications for use with niche user groups to mine valuable business intelligence.

Qualifications:

  • Design and build web applications in Silverlight and ASP.net
  • Work with testers to diagnose and troubleshoot bugs
  • Work with the development team and project manager to assess level of effort for new and existing feature requests
  • Good eye for layout and UI a plus

Experience:

  • Understanding of the software development life-cycle
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a Development Team, as well as operate independently
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast changing environment
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Responsible and self-motivated with a positive, can do attitude
  • Ability to interpret functional specifications
  • Excellent ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and bugs
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with non-technical team members
  • Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Experience with the following technologies:
  • ASP.Net 2.0 (VB.NET/C#)
  • SQL Server 2008 (2005 a plus)
  • JavaScript
  • ASP.net AJAX
  • Silverlight

Familiarity with other software/technologies including:

  • .NET Web Services
  • HTML/XML
  • Microsoft Office
  • Windows Operating Systems
  • WCF (Web Services) 3.0
  • Web Server Software (IIS 6.0/7.0)

Authentication schemas

  • Familiarity of SQL Server 2005/08
  • SharePoint Server 2007 a plus
  • Strong scripting skills on one or more languages
  • Object Oriented Software Development (C#/C++)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in QA methodology, process, tools
  • The ability to balance competing tasks in a rapidly changing environment
